But if the calculations don't work for OH2, will you be forced to add a booster pump? Or will increasing a feed main size make a difference?
If a pump is the only way to make OH2 work, then it would seem reasonable to go back to the actual definitions of OH1 and 2 and Light Hazard and determine if your situation can be described by those definitions (as opposed to using the examples and saying you're most like Mercantile). The point is that the added cost of a pump may trump the desire to be conservative in preparation for future changes. If its upsizing a main, then maybe that cost is reasonable. It a decision that will have to be backed by the AHJ. Mark A.
