Charles. I once had the insulation guys put the insulation on the inside of
the pipe in an exterior wall. When the lawsuits started  they tried that,
they tried saying insulation was the fire sprinkler company's
responsibility, not the insulation company's, and their final plea was no
one ever told them sprinkler water could freeze. Needless to say....
