I strongly urge that anyone who misses these editorial marks send a
letter to NFPA "Attention Standards Council" and express their feelings
in that regard. I serve on two committees and feel VERY strongly that
eliminating these marks makes the new editions of standards less user-
and enforcer-friendly. ESPECIALLY when a state is rolling into a new
code cycle that may reference a new(er) standard. I don't feel that
I've gotten an adequate answer as to why this has been done, only that
it's the judgment of the SC that it's not necessary.

Subject: Dots and bars

Is there a reason the bars along new standard text and dots next to
sections that have been removed...have been omitted from NFPA 13 (2016)
and other standards...NFPA 11(2016), etc.? I for one found these to be
helpful in the past when multiple editions needed to be researched to
determine code compliance.
