We are currently replacing some existing deluge systems with a dry pilot line.
We are trying to determine the correct testing methods for this piping in
accordance with NFPA 13 - 2013.

We are trying to determine if a 200 psi hydrostatic test is required and/or a
24 hour air test. 25.2.2 which describes the air test addresses Dry Pipe and
Double Interlock Preaction systems by title. While the pilot line is like a
dry system it isn't one by definition. At the same time 25.2.1.1 prescribes
hydrostatic testing for "all piping and attached appurtenances subjected to
system working pressure" this line should not normally see system water and
water pressure. 25.2.1.12 deals with deluge systems, but appears to address
only the discharge piping?

We've already hydro tested the line, but the question has been brought up about
24 hour air testing.
