I have a customer that has 2 - 6' X 30' pressurized tanks inside a building. It is time for the internal tank inspection and am looking at how to best do it. After looking at NFPA 25 (2014) 9.2.6, I was wondering if we can do it like the internal pipe inspections, test one system (tank) and if there are no problems, test the other one the next time per 14.2.2. If you drain the tanks, there is no fire protection and water would need to be trucked in to refill the tanks; no way the well would fill it for at least 2 to 3 days minimum. Unfortunately there is no opening at the top of the tank that I could take the pressure off, open the hatch and have an underwater camera inspection done. The only opening is at the end of the tank above the discharge piping. The air and fill lines are too small for the camera to be inserted.
