Careful, there are also building codes relating to clearances from the stair
handrail to our riser, etc. Architect should be the one to shed light on
that for you.

Subject: Riser Equipment Clearances

Is there any code addressing clearance in front of, or for accessing riser
equipment. We are installing a combination standpipe in an existing building
stairwell and are trying to minimize the riser profile by using BFVs but the
reviewer is insisting we need to install OS&Y, due to a misunderstanding in
the code.

Any help is apprated.
