One assumes this is a light hazard occupancy, in which case when the sprinklers are changed they can (and probably should) be changed to QR per 8.3.3.4 (NFPA 13 2013), NFPA 25 also exempts response characteristics from the items that must be the “same” in replacement sprinklers in A.5.4.1.4 in NFPA 25 2014.

When we first did the service a couple of years ago, I noted the sprinkler heads in the basement were getting close to 50 years old, and they should think about budgeting for the replacement/testing. So, a competitor got the job. All the SR fusible heads replaced were replaced with QR heads. I thought we were to use the same type of replacement heads, as were originally installed. Am I wrong? _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> http://lists.firesprinkler.org/listinfo.cgi/sprinklerforum-firesprinkler.org
