Subject: QR STANDARD SPRAY SPRINKLERS

I KNOW FOR 13R YOU NEED TO BE A MINIMUM OF 3'-0" AWAY FROM THE CENTER OF A
CEILING FAN WITH RESIDENTIAL HEADS

I CANNOT FIND WHERE THE SAME APPLIES FOR A 13 SYSTEM USING STANDARD Q.R.
PENDENT OR CONCEALED HEADS.

CAN SOMEONE VERIFY OR EDUCATED ME ON THIS PLEASE?

THANKS

2013 NFPA 13 - 8.6.5.2.1.10 specifically addresses ceiling fans; "Sprinklers
shall be permitted to be placed without regard to the blades of ceiling fans
less than 60 in. in diameter, provided the plan view of the fan is at least
50 percent open." As others have noted, A8.6.5.2.1.10 states that the
housing of the fan is expected to be addressed by the Three Times Rule. The
Handbook has further explanatory material which states that this only
applies to light hazard occupancies
