I don’t know if you got any responses to this but I do not think it’s the
intent to allow the use of residential sprinklers in corridors that serve any
other occupancies but residential.

Subject: Assisted living facility - residential sprinklers in corridors

NFPA 13 (13ed)
I am designing a multi-story assisted living facility where some of the floors
have a dwelling units on the external perimeter connected by a common corridor.
Connected to the corridor is a group kitchen / eating / lounge and similar
areas. There is also a mixture of offices for the staff to use. I was going
to use residential sprinklers in the dwelling units, corridor and group areas
and QR sprinklers in the offices and similar non-residential areas. Sound
alright?
