Hello, the typical sway bracing details always show the pipe below the structural members w/ the bracing attached in an upward direction. I have a situation where we're hanging pipe at a low elevation in a new addition and the pipe will be just above these new wide flange beams. I'd like to be able to brace to these as it's near impossible to get to the upper deck. This means I would be basically inverting the typical details: pipe on top, brace attachment going in a downard direction to the top of the wide flange beams.
Is this legit? JH
