I have a plan reviewer call me out on some obstructions near walls. I have a CMDA system with more than 20 sprinkler in the design area so I must use the spacing requirements of (16 ed.) 8.11.5 (CMSA).
I have a building with a wide flange near the wall creating an obstruction that can't be clear per fig. 8.11.5.1.2 This obstruction is under 24" deep or wide but does leave an 8" gap between the wall and beam. Is there anything like fig. 8.6.5.1.2 ( c ) that can explain not having to add additional sprinkler under a beam next to a wall?
