Using "sessions" could help Steve indeed. A session is basically a
copy of the whole '.spyder2' settings folder, so it includes the .ini
file.

It's been a long time since I've actually used the feature (and I
don't know if anyone is using it on a regular basis) so I wouldn't be
surprised if it's bugging...
