Some colleagues have modified spyder to have a custom margin that displays some pass/fail information about the scripts that have been executed. It displays to the left of the code in the main editor. They placed it between the line numbers and the syntax error/break point margin. It would be great if there were a way to do this without having modify spyder. I really have no desire to maintain those changes and don't want to get tied to some old version of spyder that they made them for.
Maybe even a way to just swap out the main editor with an editor that we define would be good.
