Hello, which is the suggested installation method (pip, apt-get..) for
ubuntu 14.04?
The best installation method is using pip, or even better by downloading
and installing the Anaconda distribution:

Unfortunately, using pip doesn't install Spyder dependencies, while
Anaconda comes with all packages Spyder depends on. We're fixing that
for Spyder 3.0.
There are still 2 separate packages (spyder and spyder3) or these has
been unified in the latest version? If they are still separate can the
two coexists? (still, it would be nice to have a single package with
the option on which python environment to run as an option)
spyder is used for Python 2 and spyder3 for Python 3. They can co-exist
as they are separate packages. Both are the same package but installed
in different Python versions. The name convention was decided by
Debian/Ubuntu maintainers, so we didn't have to do with it :-)
Cheers,
Carlos
Thank you..
