I have PG8.0 on a new machine with 2.6.17 and everything seems to work fine after creating a new db called new_db.
How do I populate new_db with data from my current database "old_db" SL version 2.6.1, PG version 7.3.4. ? psql new_db < old_db does not work. I realise that the schema in old_db probably needs to be updated, without dropping tables or data. I am afraid I do not understand the notes in the FAQ. Any previous posting on this?
