I work at a small company and we currently use Quick Books. However, we have several custom web apps that we use internally and do not have a way to interface to quick books. Thus, I am looking into other alternatives that are more open. We use Apache, Zope/Python, Linux and Oracle.
We create about 100 invoices per day in our internal system. I would feed each of these as an accounts receivable item to sql-ledger. The accountant would update sql-ledger when the invoice was paid then we would auto update our system with that info. Note, most invoices would probably not be sent out from sql-ledger, but from the internal business system instead. Other than that, our needs are typical. A few bank accounts, typical accounts payable, etc. Does this sound like sql-ledger is a possible fit for us? Also, we write about 20 checks per day and quick books has the check writing ability. Any expected date when this functionality would be available in sql-ledger.
