Dieter: May I suggest naming those interim patches 1.8.4a, 1.8.4b and so
on in the future, to avoid confusion.

If not then (for our american audience at least) add a disclaimer to this
mailing list: Brain farting probably can get pretty dangerous in the long
run (especially if smoking!) ;-)
