Yes, it meets the requirements for an audit trail. You can get from the financial statements to the detail supporting each balance. Print a trial balance and the detail of transactions by account. If you have documents supporting each transaction, that's the audit trail. As I see in Dieter's post, it looks like he's adding user flags to transactions, which is an extremely useful feature and makes an audit much easier ($$$cheaper$$$), but you'll be okay in an audit if you can support your transactions with invoices, contracts, inventory and such.
