check the file "pg_hba.conf" ( Usually in/usr/local/pgsql/data)to be sure it allows access fromJust an idea, but it's probably not the right solution, as apparently you can connect from the local server. Another idea, but even less likely, is that there is a firewall in place that blocks access to port 80....
other hosts and has the correct authentication type set.

Connect to ??? The webserver, the computer, the PostgreSQL database?
Without going into a lot of detail we need to know where the actaul
problem is.
Can you ping the server from another system?
Can you connect to the webserver (software) and get the default page?
Are you running the database on one server and the webserver on
another?I followed the instructions as written in the README file. I've had a
look at the FAQ's and the mailing list. I am lost as the error log
says select version from defaults defaults: permission denied.
Been awhile but did you upgrade the servers operating system from an
earlier version or is it a clean install. RHL 7.1 was using a little
older version of the PostgreSQL database and this may be your problem.I would appreciate some help, as sql-ledger needs to be up and running
for next school term as the accounting software to be taught to years
9 and 10 business computing.
This is great. I'm trying to build a little interest in SQL-Ledger with
local accountants and businesses but getting them hooked before they can
make buying decisions it even better. :-)
