The point of using apache:apache is so that you isolate it from having root group. If you're using "scott" as your user name, you do NOT want apache running under your user name. Then again, if you are running "scott" as your regular login name, you shouldn't be using "root" at all. I say "should not" and I mean exactly that -- you CAN certainly do it that way, the consequence is all your's. The equivalent is making your car lock and house lock use the same keys. Now, if someone steals your car key, they would be able to break into the house as well. Aside from what you should or should not do, you also have to make sure you actually have a group called "scott', and your above statement leaves that ambiguous. If your user "scott" is a member of group "root" and is not a member of "scott", then you would be chown scott:root instead of scott:scott. Second of all, you need three directories, including the templates, but also the user directory as well. Someone else had replied to this email showing which directories they are. -Qaexl- http://www.next-horizons.com/qaexl/ ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf ------------------------------------------------------- (un)subscribe: http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sql-ledger-users Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
