Sure I do it all the time. What are you using Enterprise manager? Can you connect via IP address? What you need to do first is go to your Client Network Utility that comes with SQL server. Add the ip address, using TCP/IP Once you have added it you can go into enterprise manager and add a new SQL Registration using that IP address. Of course you will have to have a Login set up on that specific SQL server and use that SQL login to get in instead of your NT login. Hope that helps.
