I am not exactly sure, never doing this before myself, but a link cube "is
based on another cube that is defined and stored on another Analysis
server". The following text from SQL Server books online sounds like a
linked cube can link across datasources.

In the Analysis Manager tree pane, expand the Analysis server and database
in which you want to create the linked cube.

Note The Analysis server cannot be the same as the server in the linked
cube's data source.
1. Right-click the Cubes folder, and then click New Linked Cube.
2. In the Linked Cube dialog box, in the Name box, type a name for the
linked cube.
3. In the Source Cube box, expand the data source that contains the source
cube, and then select the source cube.
4. If you want to process the linked cube now, select the Process after
creating new cube check box. The linked cube must be processed before end
users can connect to it.

Subject: Comparing tables in 2 different DB's

Hey everyone,

Is there a way to compare results from tables in one database to tables
in another database? I need to create a report for my company to show
all our problem parts. I know I can use joins to compare on tables, but
can that be done to compare tables in database A to tables in database
B all in one query?

Thanks

Ben
