Thank-you to all who replied. I thought I was really missing something
(other than SP 4)

oh and yes, Query Analyser only reports on its own version and/or build
number.

Subject: SQL Server 7 version and service pack

How can I tell what version and service pack my SQL server is on?

Select @@version yields:

Microsoft SQL Server 7.00 - 7.00.842 (Intel X86)
        Mar 2 2000 06:49:37
        Copyright (c) 1988-1998 Microsoft Corporation
Standard Edition on Windows NT 4.0 (Build 1381: Service Pack 6)

(1 row(s) affected)

No service pack info. Help|Abount in Query Manager only reports its own
version correct?

Thanks.
