Neither.

I have a form that inserts a record (conference). Each conference can have
up to two hotels which the user can create while on the main form via popup.
When the user enters the hotel info I store the hotelID on the main form
using JavaScript.

When the conference record is submitted to the database and the insert
occurs, I then update a crosslink table that joins the two tables together,
but I want the record to store the order in which they were inserted because
that determines the display order on the conference page. I need to do this
in a stored proc as I can not have straight SQL in my code.

Thanks,
Duane

Are you performing bulk inserts or looping over inserts?
