OK...here goes....and bear in mind I have never used CFSELECT, but I've done my
fair share of form processing ;-)
So when you post your form, you will have a bunch of FORM scoped variables
(referenced by FORM.formFieldName). If your CFSELECT tag is named
"mySelectBox"
(and let's say it holds a list of cities), then wherever you post your form to
will have access to FORM.mySelectBox.
Your query could look something like this:
INSERT INTO myTable
(
city_id
)
VALUES
(
<cfqueryparam value="#FORM.mySelectBox#"
cfsqltype="cf_sql_numeric">
)
Now the above query assumes that the value of the option tags in your CFSELECT
hold the city_id (numeric). Of course you'd be inserting other values for the
rest of the record, but it shows you the basics.
