I tries
select dcp.title, cdb.title
from gcd cross join cdb
where cdb.titleslug like %dcp.titleslug%

This is on SQL 2000 and I got:
error in where clause near '%'
unable to parse query text.

As for speed, we're talking about 80,000 titles to match between 7 databases
on a dedicated CF enterprise home test box. It can run all night if it'll
work. :)
