You may want to look at pyramid_sqlalchemy (https://pyramid-sqlalchemy.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ <https://pyramid-sqlalchemy.readthedocs.org/en/latest/> ), which includes a DatabaseTestCase base class that does all of this for you.
