Lead the development of an open source database architecture and API to 
support the production of 
various live-action & animated film/tv projects for different facilities 
around the world.

*Duties and responsibilities:*

   - Design of the database architecture
   - Setting up a new database for asset tracking
   - Creating a Python API to interact with the database
   - Solving problems in a dynamic environment
   - Produce high quality, properly structured and documented code and 
   maintain it
   - Collaborating with a team of developers across all Grid studios
   - Documenting all created software, databases and systems for users, 
   sysadmins and other developers
   - Production support of above systems in a dynamic production 
   

*Qualifications:*

   - Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
   - 5+ years of professional development experience
   - Experience developing and maintaining database in high-performance 
   computing environments
   - Excellent knowledge of Python
   - Excellent knowledge of SQL
   - Experience with SqlAlchemy
   - Experience with Postgresql
   - Experience with Qt/Pyside
   - Experience with Git
   - Experience developing on UNIX/Linux
   - Experience testing code
   - Experience profiling database


*Competencies:*

   - Excellent problem-solving and communications skills
   - Ability to create clear documentation
   - Ability to develop code independently or as part of a team
   - Team player
   - Working under pressure on 24/7 production environment
   - Be able to work in Ghent, Belgium
