I'm trying to use UNIQUE on a column in a table, catching exception in order to determine conflict.
Problem is that the exception I'm getting is sqlite3.IntegrityError. This is not a SqlAlchemy exception, and its a problem since sqlite is temporary. I expected to get a ORM/SA exception, that will be the same with different engines. (also sqlite goes bonkers after it happens, requiring transaction rollback) I know I can query first, but that makes using the UNIQUE designation kind of moot. -- SQLAlchemy - The Python SQL Toolkit and Object Relational Mapper http://www.sqlalchemy.org/ To post example code, please provide an MCVE: Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable Example.
