[sqlite] Installation of SQLite PHP extensions on OSX 10.3.4

Hi All,
Has anyone successfully installed the SQLite PHP extensions into Mac 
OSX 10.3.4 with PHP 4.3.6 installed?

Alternatively could I install PHP 5 from the BASH terminal?
