Believe me. Management does not understand technology and does not want to. They understand people. That is why they are managers. I spent over thirty years, most as a consultant, many, many times swimming upstream. If the politics are entrenched, technically you are kicking a dead dog. My first experience was learning the world's safest MIS CYA statement, back in the very early sixties: "I don't know what went wrong. We are using IBM." Look very confused when delivering this line. I think you could very easily replace "IBM" with "Microsoft" in this "enlightened" day and age. Been there. Done that. Lost the battle every time. Fred
