Why? Why does anybody care what the column names in the result are? What are the column names used for other than to print a header at the top of a table for human-readable output?

This seems a bit short sighted. Often the column names are used programatically either for auto-generated APIs, or for a simple key to access the data.


I don't mind what you decide on, but please don't break backwards compatibility - you're breaking people's applications when you do that.
