You can use PHP to do that. We are completing an application server which embeds Sqlite plus other processors and both generates HTML and supports AJAX style dynamic HTML by implementing remote procedure calls delivering JSON or XML encapsulated data. It is not quite ready yet but you can achieve a similar result with PHP and some coding.
