Just thought I'd update this thread - Managed to fix it. I think Macports were alerted to a changed sqlite distfile and fixed this at their end, I just had to update my end.
(thats the way I understood it, anyway) http://www.nabble.com/checksum-problem-with-sqlite3-t4889137.html I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to actually implement their solution... i tried cleaning all Macports packages using this article : http://kinderman.net/articles/2007/09/03/howto-clean-the-distribution-files-for-all-installed-macports-packages then installing again.. and it grabbed the updated version - everything worked fine.
