Stefan, I think that Mike did an outstanding job with the book, and the appalling index is not his fault. I wrote to the publisher about it but never received a reply. The book is very useful to me. My application using SQLite is not stressing the dbms, and I find myself using the find function of xpdf with the PDF version of the book to locate specific information. As noted, there's a lot of progress on tools such as SQLite and the dead tree production process always makes the result rather dated. Overall, I rate the book very highly and it provided me with insight and understanding that I never got from the web site and other docs. Rich -- Richard B.
