I was programming in the 80 on a DBMS named Clipper which allowed this. I
think that new versions of dBase can allow this too. I was familiar with
dBase language and take a long time to decide lo learn SQL because of the
complexity of statements when the database becomes complex and hold a lot of
links inside. But I will succed ;) ... and SQLite helps me for that !
