Thank you Rich. I was aware of Octave. I've only MATLAB a little myself - I mainly used Mathematica, but have found that is it not viable really due to its cost. Universities use it a lot, but I don't think it has much usage in industry. A search on a job site for Mathematica skills shows very little, whereas MATLAB is much more sought after. Sage is a LOT more capable than any other single open-source maths package. The source code is around 250 MB when compressed!! It consists of about 100 different packages (sqlite being one of them), with a common interface (pyton language). It is web based, so results are entered and shown in a browser. Not that I use HP-UX much, but it would be nice to see a port to an OS which none of the commercial programs support. Whilst sqlite will build on HP-UX, I suspect if a developer looked at the code, he/she might come up with the reason thosands of warnings are occurring. Just email me a user name you want IF you are are a serious sqlite developer. dave _______________________________________________ sqlite-users mailing list [email protected] http://sqlite.org:8080/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/sqlite-users
