IMHO you are going down a dark and dangerous passage. If your approach really does require severe hacking of SQLite internals then maybe that is an indication that you really need to change the approach or acquire a different tool. Maybe you are trying to nail it with a set of pliers. Doable, but not as neat as using a hammer in the first place, and also hard on the pliers.
