way back in January of this year, this list briefly discussed cache culling -- see:

Oleg applied the suggest patch to trunk. There were two problems mention in this message:

1. caches not being culled on object creation (which can be a problem when loading lots of data), and
2. caches NEVER being culled anyway

Can I humbly request that the part of the patch that at least applies to problem #2 above be applied to the 0.7-bugfix release? Never culling the cache seems like a bug to me, and I'm certainly having to maintain a private branch to fix this problem...
