The plugins will only need to be installed once in a blue moon since armageddon has happened and nobody is developing anymore so it is not essential to have internet on 24/7 just to have a repository online most of the time. It will simplify installation instead of unzipping all the plugins and stop you wondering whether you have installed them in the "right" place.
