I've just found this post https://www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/32132-allo-sparky-usbridge/?do=findComment&comment=793615 so it looks like there is a ready made image for Allo Sparky and Squeezelite-R2. Only posted yesterday, so perfect timing. I'll try that.
