Thanks for your response. Of course I tried the raw install without plugins or conf file changes before raising this issue. Also, I am running Windows 10 and not Linux (I use Daphile for my Linux music player) so ,maybe the issue is not so obvious. I checked the log file which highlights the following error with SOX (everything is as is following a clean install) ..
