MANY THANKS this was the problem! That's a setting I have not come across previously, so obviously the version I installed *after* nuking the PC was even later than the one that I had just *prior* to nuking. Perhaps someone can help me with a related problem. Previously I had my five SB3s set up a certain way (not all the same setup), but now after this re-installation their settings are all over the place. Rather than laboriously going through each individual player setup trying to recreate my earlier configurations, is there a directory or set of files that contain the LMS and player settings that I can simply copy (with LMS not running) from a recent (pre-nuking) backup to overwrite the jumbled settings I now have?
