Hey all, folks...
So I recently bought a small fanless PC (Zotac CI549) to run LMS on. I wanted to run Linux on it, as that generally is faster and uses fewer resources than Windows. So I finally got everything set up, and when I set the media folders to scan and pressed "Apply" on the web interface, the web interface hung. I checked the process, and the server was quickly gobbling up all the memory on the system (I installed 16gb) until it had used it all up, and the whole system froze. I rebooted my system, and tried this again; it once again started eating up all the memory, so I killed LMS manually; the system restarted it, and this time the media library settings stuck. I clicked "Rescan", and this time all the music was rescanned successfully and LMS didn't use up all the memory. Has anyone else seen this happen? I've never seen anything like this happening on Windows, so was surprised this happened on Linux. Anyway, after all this, I try to connect to the new server with my Squeezebox Radio and also with my Duo Controller; they both find the server, but when I enter user and password, it sticks at "Searching..." forever. I would think if it were a firewall issue, it wouldn't be able to connect at all, and wouldn't get stuck at "Searching...".
