Seems that changing the TPE2 option did the trick. Now the albums are shown with the chosen Album Artist name (instead of "Various Artists). Nice side effects (I guess because of the complete re-scan of the media library...not sure if it was dependent on the changed TPE2 option): i) the "empty" genre has vanished ;-) and ii) the issue I described in the other 'thread' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109671-Additional-Browse-Modes-Only-flacs-are-shown) is also solved.
