Something's wrong with your installation. These binaries work perfectly fine in my installation. You aren't running Catalina in a VM, are you?
Could you please enable debug logging for os.paths while you try to play something requiring transcoding? Then send me your log file (https://www.dropbox.com/request/T3RctyzGgNg0oFDubq6a).
