As mentioned earlier I go into the Web Control
Advanced/Security/Insecure HTTPS and check the box. Maybe that is not
switching to HTTP but just disabling a part of HTTPS?

Ah, ok. Yes indeed, this is not disabling HTTPS, but only disabling some of its features. Eg. certificates would not be verified the same way. But it's still HTTPS.
