As I understand it LMS 7.9.4 is now just getting maintenance fixes.
My question is whether, in the long term, LMS 8 will be the only version being maintained. The reason I'm asking is because some plugins have not been, and may never be, fully tested under version 8, and I'm wondering whether to take the plunge soon and try to fix or bypass any issues that come up, or not. I don't think I 'need' any of the new LMS 8 features, as yet. I would like to note that it's amazing that LMS has lasted as long as it has out of the hands of Logitech. I am most grateful to Michael and the many plugin maintainers for all the work that they have done and still do. This includes some who have taken over maintenance of plugins that the originator has stopped supporting. LMS 7.9.3 on PC, Xubuntu 18.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. 2 Touchs & EDO. LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (A308CR amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Also Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones. Wireless Xubuntu 18.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PasTim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113282 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
