Is there any plan to bring out LMS version that will run natively on M1
Big Sur ? What is the rough time schedule ?

No plan so far. As Apple had announced the end of scripting on macOS a while back, I was actually surprised to see Perl was still there on these new machines... The pref pane probably would need a full rewrite to make it compile for M1. It's just a lot of work for not too many users.

Getting native support certainly isn't a priority, I'm sorry to say.

I just got new M1 Mac Mini and now I have to figure out which version of
LMS should I install ... I would prefer to wait for a stable LMS version

Go with 8.1. I wanted to declare it stable and release earlier this month, but there's always one more thing :-).

which is natively running on M1 than to install version that runs on
emulation. The question is though: how long will I have to wait

I think we're in good company, using the emulation.
