I have some SB1s and have this issue for quite a while - I thought it was because I run 2 servers (one backup). It seems to be timing- if you interrupt the auto startup and step through the network setup then press the down button just as it looks for a server, after a few attempts it will lock on. Once connected they are fine. I keep meaning to see if the Slimp3s work too! Happy days.
